No guarantee Rio sprints will be clean, says Bolt
Bolt has said he is targeting three medals at this year’s Olympics; the 100m, 200m and 4 X 100m.

Confronting him in the 100m will be Justin Gatlin and in the 200m La Shawn Merrett, both banned drug cheats, in Gatlin’s case twice. But you never know. I think it’s the longest I have been in a village as normally we get in four days before or five days before but been here a week now. People should have faith (in athletics), like I said, because we are heading in the right direction.
The ceremony would have been a selfie-fest for Bolt, and while the sprinter is rarely caught without a smile, the picture below with rugby star Sonny Bill Williams shows you won’t always catch him at a good time.
“I’m looking for a full stadium here”.
Usain Bolt begins his assault on the 100m crown this coming weekend.
Although the Russian doping scandal exposed the sophisticated lengths that drug cheats were prepared to go to avoid detection, Bolt said he was unconcerned about the possibility that he might be lining up against rivals in Rio who aren’t clean. “Championships are what matters”. This is what I do, I enjoy doing it. “I hope that you win / I hope that you got the gold ring”.
No wonder organisers opted to stage it at the Cidade das Artes, the largest theatre in South America.
Queues were building to get in more than two hours before it was due to start.
Bolt will retire from athletics next year after the 2017 World Championships.
And his press conferences are never ordinary.
Dancing with a a troupe of scantily-clad samba dancers as he wrapped up the questioning he entertained the world’s press as much as he does athletics fans across the globe.
“I like to entertain”.
The contrast to every other press conference at the Rio Olympics was stark, showing once again that very few people on the planet transcend sport or command the world’s attention in the way Bolt does. He wants three gold medals, he wants three more world records, he wants to run a 200 in under 19 seconds.
Usain Bolt has set his sights on becoming the first person to run the 200 metres in less than 19 seconds. He is also targeting a new world record in the 200m.
“I think it’s going to be a little bit harder”, he said, “because I missed out on trials and a few weeks of training. but you never know”. “It’s going to take sub-19 (seconds).” stated the runner, who now has the record at 19.19 seconds.

And it is the 200m mark he wants to break more than anything.
