The son of a missing Connecticut couple has become a focus of a state police investigation into their disappearance.
Wheelabrator’s Ash Residue Landfill in Putnam is a nine-million cubic yard landfill designed to accommodate ash from all of Connecticut’s waste-to-energy facilities. They continue to search for the Navins, gather evidence and follow leads to figure out where they are. The couple, who moved to Easton, have been missing since August. 4, after their vehicle was found off of exit 42 in Westport. A window was broken.
According to search warrants, Kyle Navin told police his parents visited him in Bridgeport the morning they vanished and asked to take him to dinner.
That was the last anyone heard from Jeffrey and Jeanette Navin. Investigators with the State Police Major Crimes division spent hours going in and out of his Aldine Street home in Bridgeport on Wednesday.
“Kyle stated that he has a broken back and is unable to work right now”, policesaid. Neighbors say they have not seen Kyle Navin in over a week.
State court records show Jeffrey Navin was $2.2 million in debt as of December in connection with a mortgage on a Guilford home that has been in foreclosure since 2007.
Jeffrey Navin is president of J & J Refuse. On August. 7, their family reported them missing.
Police have also searched the couple’s current and former homes and one of their bank accounts.
