No Man’s Sky: 3 Game-Breaking Bugs You Should Be Wary Of

Bugs in No Man’s Sky have started bothering players on PS4. In all cases, you also sit tight and hope to goodness Hello Games patch this ridiculous oversight out as soon as possible. Forum posters are warning others that they’ve found themselves wanting to buy a better ship, only to discover that the newer purchase lacks the pre-order bonus’ hyperdrive – and they don’t have the means to build one themselves.

Part of the tutorial involves learning how to craft a hyperdrive, which is what lets you move from system to system.

As hilightnotes tells it, they “have been looking for a solution for many many hours”, but to no avail. Apparently, No Man’s Sky is causing this particular game-breaking bug to occur because the game now detects they haven’t done the hyperdrive tutorial. Should you then get rid of the bonus ship in favor of one that doesn’t have a hyperdrive, you’re stuck with having to build one-only you don’t have the blueprints necessary to do so.

The following content contains major spoilers for No Man’s Sky.

The game is now out on PlayStation 4, although PC gamers will only be able to play from 12 August. The No Man’s Sky’s campaign normally requires players to track down a Hyperdrive blueprint before they’re given access to the bulk of the game’s sprawling universe.

Although a lot of players are unfortunately experiencing this bothersome bug, it’s a quandary that’s easy enough to avoid for those now in the know. The preorder bonus ship comes with one already equipped, and by using that ship, the game skips this portion of the tutorial. With any luck, developer Hello Games will address the predicament with one of its future free updates to rectify the situation, but that remains to be seen. Maybe even before Friday’s planned PC release.
