We’ve released 4 patches for PC and 4 patches for PS4.
The nature of these free updates is still unknown and how No Man’s Sky will change in the meantime to address concerns of its grindiness and repetition is yet to be revealed.
DS further continued pointing out that ever since the release date, there was clarity at the fact the No Man’s Sky would require a decent amount of bug fixes, and regular patches was forseable. In the e-mail the company states that they are “aware of comments online from some players expressing disappointment with the release features of No Man’s Sky”. In fact, the hype is exactly why many gamers are disappointed in the final product – a game that somehow manages to become repetitive despite the fact that it offers a almost limitless universe with 18 quintillion planets to explore.
