A YouTuber named RabidRetrospectGames has already completed the game and has reached the centre of the galaxy.
The technique centers around an unintended effect of the game’s save system, according to a report from Eurogamer.
Players can collect their lost resources in their “grave” spot, but if you load your previous save slot, you will still have all the items in your inventory and you can still get all the items in your “grave”.
However, players can abuse the game’s save system to have their cake and eat it, too. After this, reloading an older save lets you keep your inventory as it was then, and also claim your inventory from your death in your unsaved file- essentially letting you doubling your entire inventory.
As a result, players have taken to travelling to an outpost where they can save their game, and engaging a nearby enemy. This means that you gain double of all the items that you had earlier.
If you’re playing No Man’s Sky and wondering what to do with those Atlas Stones you’ve been picking up here and there, Kotaku has a potentially very important piece of information for you. But if you’re following the Atlas path through the game, slowly swirling toward the center of the galaxy, you’ll want to be sure you have at least ten Atlas Stones in your possession before you make that final, fateful visit.

The game is now out on PlayStation 4, although PC gamers will only be able to play from 12 August.
