No Man’s Sky PC and PS4 Patch download available now

I’ve complained before about inventory-heavy games like Fallout 4, and I’m starting to wonder if it isn’t a video game pet peeve (although you stare at your possessions in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt a lot and I never minded-interface matters), but I think the inventory issue in No Man’s Sky is essential to understanding why the game doesn’t live up to expectations.

On Saturday, Hello Games took to Steam Community to state that its team was working on a major update for “No Man’s Sky” that would fix support issues and other bugs that weren’t addressed by the three previously released patches. Despite the relatively small amount of affected users though, Murray says that they’re aiming to “resolve roughly 70% of them” by the end of this week.

Another interesting feature of “No Man’s Sky” is that you can rename any galaxy, planet and alien creature and upload them online.

“We’re totally focused on customer support right now”, Murray wrote.

Remember, patience is a virtue.

He also assured gamers that the first patch of “No Man’s Sky” that will come out this week will really make players happy although he did not say exactly when will the update officially make it to the PS4 and the PC. The main thing the developers want to add is base building which is expected to be patched into the game soon.

No Man’s Sky may not be the action game you want, but it certainly is the exploration game you need.

Before going any further though, Sony’s rep stepped in to move the interview along, explaining that at this time there was nothing more to add.

However, PlayStation 4 users are having a much more hard time of returning their downloads. By the time you see this review it is nearly certain that your views on the game have been colored in some way by a combination of the Internet hype machine, a multitude of other reviews and think pieces, discussion of its broken status on PC, and the jaw-dropping screenshots that have been plastered all over social media this week.

The procedural generation results in some truly fabulous worlds. A high rating means stronger enemies.

The expectation, boredom, repetition, sometimes drought, even sadness are part of the experience and that is also because sometimes we find nothing lovely or well where we landed that when this is the case, the wonder is also powerful.

“You can have – and you’ll see this from our patch notes – we’re able to change huge things in the universe, because we have complete control”. Jumping into that sandbox you are dropped on a random planet and given a simple choice: follow the path to Atlas, a race for the center of the universe, or ignore both and just wander aimlessly doing your own thing.

It may sound derogatory, but our favourite moments in No Man’s Sky were the ones where something actually happened.

Here’s what was included in the game’s second patch.

It’s unique, colourful space visuals instantly set it apart from from the hoard of ultra-realistic sci-fi shooters. Every time you buy a slot for your exosuit the price increases and it can get very costly very quickly.

It’s not uncommon to be alone for long periods before you see another life form. However, if any piece of the game seems in the least bit boring then it’s best to pass on the game, at least for now.

When you’re not traversing a planet you will probably be found somewhere in space, travelling to your next world or mining asteroids.
