No Man’s Sky sales drop by 81% one week after launch

No Man’s Sky released earlier this year and after the initial rush of sales its growth has tanked. According to Gfk Chart-Track, F1 2016 is now the number one selling game in the United Kingdom across all platforms while No Man’s Sky moves down to second place.

The collected charts have seen Codemaster’s F1 2016 take the top spot – a surprising turn of events to us, if we’re honest: we’d have thought No Man’s Sky could at least hold onto the top for more than one week!

Codemasters’ F1 2016 has finished in pole position in its first week on shelves.

This has also resulted in a 32% drop in sales for F1 2015, although UKIE, who publishes the Games Charts haven’t stated where F1 2016 is on the overal chart. Beyond this, there has been little change in the top ten from last week. “Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens” (+13%) climbs up a place to No3 with promotions helping to give it a boost.

This kind of drop isn’t really that much of surprise.

Launched in early July, No Man’s Sky shot to the top of the United Kingdom charts in its first week of release as Sony’s biggest PS4 launch ever after Naughty Dog‘s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Hello Games is working on patches for the game, but some players still loudly detract from what No Man’s Sky is.

It is a below average experience that is available on PC and PlayStation 4.
