I’m not going to point fingers and accuse anyone of lying, but I will say that the wonderful maths behind it aside, No Man’s Sky ended up being a boring game to play once you’ve scratched its surface.
However, on the Steam discussion thread, user Whewlad! points out that you should not use the automatic refund system to get a refund for No Man’s Sky, but instead use the support ticket system.
It is not known what financial impact this refund policy will have on the developer, but the game’s critics have applauded the decision to offer refunds regardless of playtime.
“For anyone who is not getting a refund I would just keep trying”. Meanwhile, Hello Games recently hired a QA team in an effort to resolve the critical issues with NMS and be able deliver smooth gameplay to players. The majority of the gamers felt cheated and they were quick to label No Man’s Sky as an overhyped title.
General grievance among the gamers is that No Man’s Sky doesn’t work as advertised in the trailers and promotional materials. Anyways, we must give credit to Hello Games for trying, and perhaps the next effort from them will look back at No Man’s Sky and give us a world that men actually want to tread upon!
Hello Games has already released five patches for the PlayStation 4 version of its game. Certainly, the paid DLC will include a lot of content and new features that might lead to additional development time.
“You can do this with practically anything on Steam so long as you are not abusing the system”, a Neogaf user posted. Thankfully, Sony, Steam, and Amazon US are refunding the money to all the early buyers of the No Man’s Sky.
So, of all the many misleading marketing statements made about No Man’s Sky, this one was definitely not one, it seems like.
