No marriage is flawless: Angelina Jolie
Falling apart… Jolie and Pitt’s new film By The Sea looks at a relationship in decline. In a new cover story, Jolie provides many a detail about the 70s-set drama, which she wrote and directed, that blurs reality and fiction, as the couple stars as a husband and wife besieged by personal complications.
Fans believe that Angelina Jolie got shut out of last year’s Oscars race with “Unbroken”, which failed to earn her a nomination for Best Director. Angelina Jolie declared Brad Pitt and she aren’t imperfect and that they undoubtedly experience “problems” in their relationship. Jolie explains how the surgery and menopause have both grounded her as a woman and connected her to other women, readying her to tackle her 40s.
“When she was sitting on the floor with her UN cap writing her notes as she was talking to someone, I was flashing on myself fifteen years ago and thinking, I know that moment”, Jolie reflected.
“Both of the women in my family, my mother and my grandmother started dying in their 40s”, she said. While putting on fake eyelashes, Angelina answers him, “I’m blowing you one back”. Her mother died of ovarian cancer in 2007, when she was 56. “But the specific grief came from the woman I was closest to, seeing her art slip away, her body fail her”.
“We can experiment and play and it’s oddly a safer environment than any set I’ve ever been on before, so we let loose”, said Pitt. “We travel often to Asia, Africa, Europe, where they were born”, Jolie says. & Mrs. Smith. “As artists we wanted something that took us out of our comfort zones”, she told Vogue. Later Bertrand’s work was cut short as a producer and activist for Native Americans and for the Give Love Give Life cancer organization she founded with her partner, John Trudell.
