Police say school officials are asking parents to go to the Walmart parking lot a few blocks north of the campus on 75th and Glendale avenues to await further instructions. She didn’t discuss the conditions of the teens.
Numerous police and fire units have descended on the school.
According to Fox, the shooting was an isolated incident and an active shooter did not remain at the Glendale high school. Streets are closed to traffic in the residential area around the school. Independence High has approximately 2,000 students. The union high school district operates nine comprehensive high schools and serves most of Glendale and a portion of Phoenix.
