Blige was searching for “Real Love” and we knew she found it when she married, husband/manager Kendu Isaacs 12 years ago. Mary cited “irreconcilable differences” on the divorce papers, and did not note a split date, TMZ reports. Blige has asked the judge to block Isaacs from receiving spousal support.
The marriage was 45-year-old Blige’s first, although she was briefly engaged to Jodeci star K-Ci Hailey in the mid-1990s.
Interestingly enough, according to TMZ, Mary J. listed the date of separation as “to be determined”, which is rather odd. “The document does not say if there is a prenup”, the site mentions.
Mary J. Blige is calling it quits with her husband Martin (Kendu) Isaacs. But a reg flag could have been raised in 2014 when Mary spoke up about the trials of dating the man who plays the role of her manager.
“When you don’t feel like answering to your manager, he’s still your husband”.
