No new government liquor shop in Delhi: Kejriwal
He said the future of existing shops will be decided by “mohalla sabhas”.

Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, on Monday announced to increase the wage for the capital’s workforce by 50%, emphasising his government’s push for bringing the economic parity to minimise the gap between the rich and the poor in the capital.
Addressing the press conference, Kejriwal said, “On the whole, an unskilled labourer gets Rs. 9,500”.
Post liberalisation, the talk about minimum wages for blue-collar workers has been lost in the din of making Indian industry competitive in the worldwide market. Even the Central government, which has been considering a major hike in the minimum wages in the country for the past two years, is looking at a figure that is much less than what Delhi has proposed.
Quoting information revealed in a RTI query, Swaraj Abhiyan leaders pointed out that 58 new liquor shops were opened in Delhi since February 2015 when Kejriwal government took over the reins of power in the state.
On Wednesday, Kejriwal warned that strict action will be taken against shop owners and managers of existing liquor shops over reports of unruly behaviour or illegal activities. There shouldn’t be any nuisance outside these liquor shops, said Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi.
