Leicester started the campaign as 5,000-1 outsiders for the title after nearly being relegated last season.

Claudio Ranieri has heaped praise on his Leicester City players after they secured a first English top-flight title in the club’s history last night.

“It’s an unbelievable feeling”.

“We know Tottenham haven’t won at Stamford Bridge for many years so it’s good for us the players, and for the fans too”.

“It’s a fantastic season for them”. I’m happy for him, he’s never won this before.

“Saturday can’t come quickly enough”.

Britain’s broadsheet and red-top tabloid newspapers turned blue in homage, while The Economist asserted: “There has never been a more improbable victory in any sport”.

“I’ve not (known a bond like it), and I think the rest of the lads would answer the question the same”. “It is hard to put over in words”. “I can’t wait to get my hands on the trophy”, added the centre back, who will hoist it in front of the club’s fans in the home game against Everton.

I am going to try and hold back the tears, it is going to be very emotional. “This is actually impossible”.

“The figures Leicester City could be making are in large part thanks to the Premier League revenue share, which is split relatively evenly across the league and from Champions League qualification”, said Spencer Nolan, head of consulting at Repucom UK&I, in a statement.

And the scenes were similar.in the bars, pubs and streets of Leicester.

New talents have lit up the Premier League to provide genuine excitement ahead of the tournament in France but areas of concern remain as well. In hindsight of course I wish I had but the way I see it is I’ve got a £5,000 bonus I wasn’t expecting.

And now Leicester fan Lineker will have to fulfil his pledge of hosting Match of the Day in his underwear as the Foxes are champions.

Having been photographed arriving for the gathering at Vardy’s house to watch the match on television, Leicester’s newly crowned champions were able to celebrate together once the final whistle blew at Stamford Bridge.

This is the same manager who promised his team a pizza party-and delivered-after the club’s first clean sheet of the season. It is a pleasure to play with this intensity, I like to play like this, when the opponent shows you so much respect.
