No Powerball Winner in Saturday’s Drawing, Jackpot Grows to $422 Million

The jackpot amount has rolled 21 times since the jackpot reset to $40 million for the draw on May 11. Players select five white numbers from (1 to 69) and one red ball (1 to 26) Tickets cost $2 each.

Overall, there were 1,430,643 winners in the drawing, who won at least $4 each.

When you combine the Powerball jackpot with tonight’s estimated $15 million ($10.3 million cash option) Mega Millions® draw – and then add in Saturday night’s $19 million ($13.3 million cash option) SuperLotto Plus® draw – There’s an estimated $424 million up for grabs over the next two evenings.

The Powerball jackpot has hit $390 million, the ninth largest in the game’s history, ahead of the next drawing on Saturday night, according to California Lottery officials.

The drawing is at 9:59 p.m. Saturday. Powerball is played in 44 states, Washington, D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

At an estimated $390 million, it is also the second biggest Powerball prize of 2016. They split the May 7 jackpot with $429,6 million, the largest prize won by a single lottery ticket in New Jersey.

This marks the fifth Mega Millions jackpot won this year, following winnings on January 8 ($169 million, New York), March 8 ($157 million, Washington), July 8 ($536 million, Indiana) and July 19 ($25 million, Washington). The winning Powerball number was 5 and the Power Play number was 2x.
