VCU Police are saying to resume normal activity after previously sending an alert Friday morning about a possible armed subject near school grounds.

Richmond, VCU, and State Police searched the area but as of 11 a.m., have not been able to find the person in question.
Police searched the area and were unable to confirm the information, the Richmond university said in a later alert.
In total, there are almost 30,000 students at VCU and almost 15,000 staff, according to the school’s website.
A possible armed person was earlier reported to be on the Virginia Commonwealth University campus in Richmond, with the school posting an alert message on its website.
The issue comes a day after a gunman in Oregon opened fire at students in Umpqua Community College, killing nine.
The suspect was described as a male, wearing a square military-style hat and backpack, spotted going east on Grace Street from Belvidere Street.
