No Tebow: Former NFL QB denies NYT report on speaking at RNC

A last-ditch effort to block Donald Trump’s nomination by freeing delegates to vote for whomever they want has been soundly defeated in the convention’s rules panel Thursday night.

The GOP convention promises to be a joke.

When the dust settles from this convention that’s where the Republican Party may end up as well.

“Obviously, it’s extremely exciting”, Michael Garrison said.

Indeed, this has been a leading concern among Democratic donors, who’ve made no secret of their fear about Republicans dumping Trump for a less ridiculous – and more electable – presidential candidate.

Under current Republican Party rules, delegates’ votes are to be tallied for the candidate to whom they are bound as a result of state party primaries, conventions and rules. But instead of sports stars and celebrities, as promised, the campaign is relying heavily on the party’s establishment for the four-day convention, which begins Monday.

Adams will not be the only Republican in the region to attend the convention. But the odds are great: A minority report has not been submitted since the 1976 contested convention between Ronald Reagan and Gerald Ford.

“We have been planning and preparing for both conventions for over a year”, he said.

Johnson said he will be inspecting security in Cleveland during a visit today.

“I wake up this morning to find out I’m speaking at the Republican National Convention”, Tebow said in a video posted on Instagram.

Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, and the party’s two most recent presidential nominees, John McCain and Mitt Romney, plan to skip the event, as does Ohio Gov. John Kasich, another Trump primary challenger.

He said the Republican candidate reaches out to some moderate Democrats and union voters with his opposition to NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Jean Turner of Gibsonburg has been an OH delegate to the Republican National Convention twice – in 2008 for John McCain and 2012 for Mitt Romney.

“We have to elect him”.

“I’m very much hoping the electorate will come around to supporting him”, Anderson said. “I don’t know what they have or have not decided”, Mickelson said, saying she was committed to moving on regardless.

But Manafort said that months of “conjecture” by Trump’s opponents should give way in the coming days to party unity.

“If they think they’ve quelled a rebellion, all they did is kick them in the shins”, she said of the impact GOP leaders’ actions had on her supporters.

Why is she not scheduled to speak at the convention?

Add Rep. Chris Collins, R-Clarence, to the list of Republican politicians, businesspeople, religious leaders and celebrities slated to speak before Donald Trump accepts his party’s nomination in Cleveland next week.
