No thanks: MI loses four-star recruit in card error

The four-star defensive tackle from Leesburg, Georgia tweeted his announcement on Monday evening and told 247 Sports a mail snafu on Michigan’s end was a reason for his decommitment.

Monday wasn’t a great day if you’re a Michigan Wolverines fan.

MI thanked four-star commit Aubrey Solomon for attending its BBQ, which would have been a nice gesture if he went.

“After a talk with my mom and coaches I have made a decision to decommit from the University of Michigan”, Irvin wrote on Twitter.

Solomon committed to MI in June, giving the Wolverines eight players with four-star ratings in the Class of 2017. Plus they spelled both of my names wrong after I told them, but that was not the main issue.

Rated the No. 5 defensive tackle in the 2017 recruiting class in the 247Sports composite rankings, Solomon is the second player to decommit from MI on Monday. “I guess they do not have tabs on me”.

Somehow, Solomon says that MI is still high on his list.

With Michigan officially out of the picture for the up-and-coming Solomon, he will now consider heading to the Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, USC Trojans, Oregon Ducks, Clemson Tigers or Florida Gators instead.

Solomon told 247Sports that the MI gaffe played a role in his decision to reopen his recruitment. Academically, you can not go wrong with MI, but [with] this go-around, I will make my decision with my mother in the driver’s seat.
