Crystal Palace will fancy themselves.

Manchester United have made provisions to prevent more London travel chaos ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup final against Crystal Palace.

The Spain global stayed at United after a deadline day move to Real Madrid fell through last summer and he has gone on to win the club’s Player of the Year award during a troubled campaign at Old Trafford.

‘I think people are probably assuming United are going to win it but it’s going to be a tough game, ‘ he added.

‘We always seem to go after those two which you can probably understand and a lot of the times we would go out of the FA Cup as our team was missing players that would needed to be rested for the big Champions League and Premier League games’.

“It is a hard one to call”.

FA Cup final upsets have admittedly been few and far between in recent years, Wigan’s 1-0 defeat of Manchester City three years ago the exception to the rule, with Portsmouth, Stoke, Hull and Aston Villa among the vanquished this decade.

He has now turned to Steve Coppell and Alan Smith, Palace’s manager and assistant manager respectively back in 1990, for advice. We are getting an unbelievable price on them to lift the trophy so I think we should take it. We’re all very close friends, it bonded us.

If a goalless draw (or no goalscorer) makes appeal at 15/2 then it’s worth having a small interest on the final being decided by penalties.

“Friendships – I’d prefer those friendships to have carried through as winners”.

United failed to get out of their group in the Champions League and a fifth-placed finish in the league means the club will not return to Europe’s elite club competition until the 2017-18 season at the earliest.

“The pressure is on them all the time”, Pardew said. (Sir Alex) Ferguson, (George) Best, (Bobby) Charlton, (Eric) Cantona…

“Put those ingredients together and it’s quite an exciting blend and an exciting team”.

“What I want to say is this club has something special”. There’s no revenge of “putting it right”.
