Most of the Indian cricketers are coming from a long break of close to a month since a rather forgettable tour of Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, it has also been reported that even Team Director Ravi Shastri won’t be in the initial travelling party to Sri Lanka. “And we’ve decided that their wives will not be allowed on tour”, a top BCCI official said confirming the board’s decision to newspaper the Indian Express. Law, who is assisting Troy Cooley in the series, though chose to spoke on coaching and more after an absorbing day’s play at the Massachusetts Chidambaram Stadium.

It is learnt that the previous India cqptain had accomplished the BCCI ahead of time about his media responsibilities.

Team India will leave for Sri Lanka on August 6.

Team India will also be without a head coach in the island nation as the BCCI is yet to name Duncan Fletcher’s replacement.

“Shastri will join the team a bit late as he is presently a pundit on a post-match show on Sky Sports for the Ashes series”. The Indian Board therefore feels that the previous policy of not allowing partners on tours should be implemented again as the players have spent considerable time home. “He had informed the BCCI about it and as we concluded the BCCI schedule a touch late, he had effectively taken authorization to edge the early section”, a BCCI authority said.

It’s always competitive when these two countries go up against each other because India are seen as Sri Lanka’s Big Brother.
