Nokia has reduced the price of its Ozo 360-degree camera and announced the launch of Ozo in China.

It has been available for just over a year in the UK, Europe, and the U.S. where it is now being sold for £34,100 ($45,000, €40,000). There’s a genuine hunger among consumers for more immersive, high quality and professionally produced entertainment. “As a single-body camera giving content professionals a simple way to produce compelling content for their audiences, OZO is tailor made to fill a very important gap”.
As part of its China launch, Nokia has announced a partnership with LeVR, the VR arm of Chinese giant LeEco, to create and distribute OZO content in the region.
There’s no definitive price tag for China yet, though Nokia says it will be “equivalent” to its U.S. and European prices. “In less than a year, we have expanded the sales footprint for OZO and our software suite worldwide, and continuously received positive feedback from our professional customers and their own customers as well”.

Nokia has been trying to reinvent itself with its high-end Ozo VR camera, and it’s opening a major avenue for expansion by bringing the product to China. The goal is to create a comprehensive, all-encompassing solution for creating VR content. The OZO had already been used to cover live events, like the NAB 2016, World Youth Day, a P!nk concert, and the Hollywood premiere of Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass. With the incoming release of the OZO Live and OZO Player SDK in all markets to enable simultaneous recording and broadcasting of both audio and video in 360 degrees and high definition, the Ozo family’s market share is expected to only grow among content creators and high-end consumers alike.
