Nolan North doesn’t think fans want an Uncharted movie
Developers are nearly constantly remastering a few of the best selling and highest critically rated games of last generation and giving them a new life on the PS4/Xbox One. Since he left the project, the movie has pottered around not making much progress. None of the aforementioned actors have been confirmed as committed to the film, and directors including David O. Russell and Neil Burger have dropped out. Indeed you’d be forgiven for thinking the movie was cursed in and of itself.

“This comes after the already wrapped-up plot of “Uncharted 3, ‘ which in the same interview Druckmann noted was meant to be the end of the franchise, putting even more pressure on the team to make Nate’s ‘one last expedition” worthwhile”, the report pointed out.
Talking to GamesNewsOfficial (via VG24/7), North said that regardless of “who’s the star of it”, fans would find it too hard to acclimatise to a Drake with a different face – even if Drake was played by North himself.
Sony’s enthusiasm for an Uncharted movie has likely cooled following the middling performance of Hitman at the box office.
The voice of Uncharted protagonist Nolan North has said he believes fans aren’t interested in seeing Hollywood’s adaptation of the blockbuster video game series. “They’d recognise the voice, but I don’t know if they’d accept me”. Even still, Naughty Dog‘s series has arguably become just a big a brand in recent times, not to mention the fact that adapting ND’s series hasn’t been done before – a privilege that Hitman can’t attest to, unfortunately.

The same site pointed out that because “Uncharted 4” is the final installment, Naughty Dog obliged to move the release date further to accommodate a more ambitious ending.
