Bihar’s ruling Grand Alliance partner Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Sunday suspended legislator Rajballabh Yadav for allegedly raping a girl.
Public prosecutor Manzar Hasan Khan said that the court also recorded the statements of the victim’s sister and father in which they corroborated the rape incident.
In her complaint, the girl said that the RJD leader raped her on February 6 after a woman abducted her. She identified Yadav’s home as the scene of crime, but his supporters reportedly prevented a police team from collecting evidence from the house. DIG Police Shalin said that the victim identified the MLA, who belongs to Nalanda district.
According to the complainant, A lady named Sulekha Devi took her to an undisclosed area that is 15 km far from the locale central station Bihar Sharif.
“The party has made a decision to suspend legislator Rajballabh Yadav for his alleged crime”. The party also served a show-cause notice to the legislator to explain his position.
