NORAD’s Santa Tracker celebrates 60 years
Santa reached Indonesia at 10:30 a.m. EST on Christmas Eve and had delivered 1.3 billion presents to children in other parts of the world who are already snug in their beds.

This year, the North American Aerospace Defense Command tracks the old guy and shows what he’s up to by way of the Internet or mobile devices, with a website available in eight languages.
NORAD’s website is also streaming live videos through its Santa Cam.
NORAD operates the tracking system with help from corporate partners that include Microsoft and Verizon. But the number was incorrectly printed, directing calls instead to the Continental Air Defense Command Operations Center, according to information provided by the North American Aerospace Defense Command.
As technology has advanced, there have become more and more ways for children to keep track of Santa, and this year updates will be posted throughout Christmas Eve on www.noradsanta.org as well as the Facebook page www.facebook.com/noradsanta and the Twitter page at www.twitter.com/NoradSanta.
People dressed as Santa Claus gather in Brooklyn’s McCarren Park during the SantaCon 2015 in New York City December 12, 2015, the 21st anniversary of the event that sees hundreds of people dress as Father Christmas.
Dozens of volunteers man the phones for kids who call in and want to remind Santa of a favored gift or, as is the case many times, they ask Santa to give something special to a brother, or sister, or mom or dad.
“Typically, you’ll have a parent that is corralling their kids around the speaker phone and the children are asking, ‘Is Santa coming?'” he said. Usually, Alaska is his last stop before returning home.
Obama has participated in this holiday tradition for six straight years.

On his mythical journey, Santa generally departs the North Pole, flies to the global date line over the Pacific Ocean, then begins deliveries in island nations. That’s 40 calls per volunteer per hour.
