NORAD Santa tracker lets you follow the Big Man over Christmas
Each of the rival technology giants continued their separate Internet holiday traditions that allow children, no matter how grown up they might be, to track Santa online as he makes his way around the world on Christmas Eve.

You can track Santa here or follow along tomorrow night as AL.com brings you NORAD’s live feed showing where Santa and his reindeer are. The personnel at Peterson Air Force base in the western US state of Colorado are answering phone calls from kids across the world with the latest information on Santa’s location on his journey and an estimate of when he will arrive in their town. Last year, hundreds of volunteers, including many NORAD employees and Michelle Obama, fielded 135,000 calls from 234 countries.
To handle this, dozens of computers are hooked up to miles of wire along with 157 telephone lines.
NORAD will also share Santa’s location on Facebook and Twitter.
NORAD NORAD started tracking Santa’s annual flight across the globe early Thursday morning.
“Typically, you’ll have a parent that is corralling their kids around the speaker phone and the children are asking, ‘Is Santa coming?'” he said.
Over the years, the Santa Tracker gained a loyal following through various forms of media.
NORAD took over Santa-tracking duties when it was created in 1958. Rudolph’s nose gives off an infrared signature so the satellites detect Rudolph’s bright red nose with no problem.
Another option for keeping an eye out for Saint Nicholas is Google Santa Tracker, which has been in operation since 2004.
In that year the phone number posted was for the Continental Aerospace Defense Command, which has since become the North American Aerospace Defense Command.
“They want an indication that Santa has taken off from the North Pole”, he says.

In addition to tracking Santa, NORAD’s Santa Tracker offers games, movies, music, and more interactive fun.
