Earlier in the afternoon and Thursday, Washington players used Twitter to try to convince Norman to sign.
With Josh Norman and Chris Culliver now locked down long term, the Redskins now have something to build around on their defense and provide them stability.
But the rescinding of Norman’s contract could backfire against the Panthers as teams including the Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears and Oakland Raiders. His first trip is scheduled for Friday to meet with Washington coaches and officials, including former 49ers general manager Scot McCloughan.

The team made it to the playoffs for the first time in three seasons. It was in the thick of things. “And one piece here, one piece there, you guys can do what Carolina (did) when they went to the Super Bowl previous year”.
Norman’s regular-season debut will be on ESPN’s Monday Night Football on September 12 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

And the real kicker is Washington is shelling out $51 million in guaranteed money.
The Panthers decision to sideswipe Norman means that you should probably circle December 19 on your calendar, because that’s when the cornerback will be able to get revenge on his old team. In his 2015 season with the Panthers, Norman was credited for 181 tackles, 36 pass deflections, seven interceptions, four forced fumbles and two touchdowns.

Norman gives Washington an aggressive cornerback with an edge, particularly when he faced Odell Beckham Jr. of the New York Giants and Dez Bryant of the Dallas Cowboys last season. Specifically, the team only has about $11.1 million.
