North Carolina-Georgia Preview Capsule
Although he will not start, Eason is still expected to play on Saturday against the Tar Heels according to a source that told ESPN’s Mark Schlabach.

Kickoff for Saturday’s Chick-Fil-A Classic is set for 5:30 p.m. ET and the game is sold out.
“When your mom and dad read the paper, they like to know their sons are on the roster”, Smart said. Junior Brice Ramsey has performed well in practice, Smart said, but the other two have distanced themselves from him of late. Smart said senior Greyson Lambert and true freshman Jacob Eason are taking the most reps in practice, and the starting job will come down to those two.
Lambert had 12 touchdowns and just 2 interceptions in 2015.
North Carolina will be starting a new quarterback when junior Mitch Trubisky takes over for Marquise Williams after serving as Williams’ backup the last two years, but Smart played it coy until Thursday.
The decision by Smart to start Lambert was probably the wise one.
After weeks of speculation, the Georgia Bulldogs have finally revealed who will be under center against the North Carolina Tar Heels.
Eason, 6-foot-6 and 240 pounds, was the Gatorade National Football Player of the Year in 2015. Both Lambert and Eason have been working with the first team and it seems only a matter of time before Eason is given the job. “We’ve stood firm on that the whole way through and whoever that is – I have no reservations about a guy’s age”.
There was no media viewing, nor any media availability afterwards with coach Kirby Smart.
The Jacob Eason era as Georgia starting quarterback will have to wait. But at least early in the week, Smart is playing it close to the vest. “I think that’s the hardest part being head coach is analyzing every play”.
