Alan Tysheen Eugene Lassiter, 29, of Holloway Terrace in Raleigh, was placed in Durham County Jail under a $2,250,000 bond after police say he tossed his kids into a lake on Shearwater Drive behind the Audubon Lake Apartments. He is charged with attempted murder.
It also is not clear whether the girls were thrown or pushed into the pond before they were rescued by an off-duty sheriff’s deputy who performed CPR until an ambulance arrived, Lopez said.
The girls’ 7-year-old brother had managed to escape and run for help.
The 3-year-old girl is in critical condition and the 5-year-old girl in stable condition, police said. “We really feel for them”. “Instead they turned their back on me”.
‘You blame CPS for this.
A teen was shot to death early Sunday morning in the 1500 block of Braxton Street, Durham police reported. The seven-year-old boy is with relatives, according to police.
‘It’s very stressful for responders, ‘ said Police Chief Jose Lopez. In the 911 call, Lassiter said, “I just killed… both of my daughters”.
Around 4 a.m., investigators towed a white SUV from the scene, although they did not say what connection it had to the children.
