China and Russian Federation will hold their first joint computer-assisted anti-missile drill, state media said on Thursday, after the United States and South Korea discussed an anti-missile defence system for the South to counter threats from North Korea.

The ruling party’s official mouthpiece, the Rodong Sinmun daily, said the coming congress was a “sacred” event that would enshrine Kim’s achievements, from infrastructure projects to developing submarine-launched ballistic missiles.
British publication The Independent, citing a report in Daily NK, said that free movement in and out of Pyongyang has also been banned, and inspections, searches and surveillance have been ramped up in the days leading to the meeting. But North Korea’s advances toward becoming a truly credible nuclear power are sure to be touted along with claims of economic advances in the face of the toughest global sanctions it has been hit with in decades.
Delegates for the congress will be brought in from all over the country for the political theater aspect of the event.
