The team from John Jay High School was playing Marble Falls High School in Marble Falls Friday night.

A second player then dives on top of him, leading with his helmet.
Late in their game against Marble Falls (Tex.), two San Antonio John Jay players appeared to blindside a defenseless referee, knocking him to the ground.
After watching the video multiple times, there is no question in my mind the hits on the official were intentional and both players should have to face the consequences.
The incident occurred with about a minute left in the game.
According to mySA, Northside ISD and the University Interscholastic League are investigating the incident.
The players were ejected.
“I’ve coached 14 years and I’ve never seen anything like it”, Marble Falls coach Matt Green said.
Northside Independent School District athletic director Stan Laing told the San Antonio Express-News (http://bit.ly/1VGRHoA ) that video of the incident was “very disturbing”.
“The question of what instigated [the incident] is what we’re trying to figure out”, Laing said.

Players and students from John Jay have tweeted that the hit came after racial slurs were used by the targeted official.
