Norwich reject West Ham bid for Martin Olsson

West Ham have seen a bid for Norwich City’s Martin Olsson rejected, according to Sky Sports.

The Hammers are in the hunt for a left-back after Aaron Cresswell’s long-term injury.

Olsson made 27 appearances for Norwich last season but could not help them avoid relegation to the Championship and he has one year left on his current deal at Carrow Road.

Their 2014/15 Hammer of the Year has been a mainstay in the West Ham defence for the past two seasons so his alleged four month absence is a big blow for the Irons.

Olsson lost a regular place in the Norwich team last season to Republic of Ireland worldwide Robbie Brady, another player who has interested West Ham, and the relegated club are open to a deal for a player in the final year of his contract.

Manuel Lanzini, who spent last season on loan at West Ham, completed a £9.5m permanent move to London earlier in the summer.

The attacking midfielder has been joined by Toni Martinez, Sofiane Feghouli, Ashley Fletcher, Havard Nordtveit, Domingos Quina, as well as loanee Gokhan Tore, since the window opened.
