Norwich tell Leeds to cough up for Lafferty
Eddie Howe is keen to land Cook and Evans says the England Under-19 midfielder’s playing style suits the Cherries.

Leeds boss Evans has chased Lafferty since taking over at Elland Road and was linked with a loan bid in the Autumn. “There are no more conversations to have about Lewis Cook”.
“Dawson, I don’t really see the boy as being in the first-team squad”, Evans told BBC Radio Leeds on Thursday.
“But it was very clear when I sat down with him that he had no interest accepting either of them”.
“I think every player in the world is for sale”.
“(Cook) is not going to be sold in this window”.
According to the Daily Mirror as reported by the Daily Express, Leeds believe they can get £8m for Byram’s services, and will seek to do so immediately according to Cellino.
“But that’s still a long, long way off anything being concrete to happen”. Decisions on whether we sell a player lie at the door of the president.
The manager has answered a question about two of Leeds United’s young fringe players.
Kyle Lafferty is Evans’ top priority but the manager revealed negotiations with Norwich have stalled.
“I have just put names on a sheet of paper and said to the president “I want these people to be here on the 1st of February” and Pepe was on that sheet”.
“We want it to be a loan deal with the option of a permanent. We’re not going to be doing it on a permanent initially”, he said at a press conference held this morning.
“Whether that’s had any influence, I don’t really go into that level of detail because there is one man here who will decide if an offer is accepted or not and it’s not me. There are other options”.
The Premier League side, who defeated Liverpool 2-0 at the weekend, are understood to have beaten the likes of Everton, Newcastle United and Sunderland to the £10m-rated Leeds United defender. “I asked”, Evans revealed.

“We’re very much in a position to do permanent deals, though”, he added.
