Not a mega-Watt opener, but he’s happy to be back

Will the Houston Texans and Chicago Bears find themselves in a shootout when they two meet today at 1PM ET?

Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing just can not catch a break when it comes to his knees. So I’m not the only one doing that, but that was one thing I was able to see and learn from Peyton from my time with him. The Texans took the lead for good on Will Fuller’s touchdown on the next possession.

J.J. Watt didn’t seem to be limited in his return after sitting out all of the preseason after back surgery.

The Texans won the AFC South last season, but they are looking to do even more than that by adding to the offense.

Brock Osweiler completed 22-of-35 passes for 231 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in the Texans’ Week 1 win over the Bears. They go into their second straight opener shuffling their line; r Long was a late switch to right tackle a year ago after Jordan Mills got cut.

Earlier this week, on NFL Thursday Night Football, the season opener took place between the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers. “You never know where it’s going to come from.it could be anybody and that’s what’s so fun about our defence”.

But the lack of pass rush was a critical problem, and the Bears were unable to bring looks that upset the Houston offense often enough. He knows Osweiler benefited from his time learning from Manning.

If the Bears achieve this, they’ll put the game in the hands of quarterback Brock Osweiler and make him beat them.

Last season, Cushing stayed healthy for all 16 games, recording 110 tackles. After that point, the Texans went 4-1 at home with the lone defeat coming against New England.

In the second half, Fuller showed why he was a first-round pick in achieving his goal – helping the Texans to a 23-14 season-opening win over the Bears.

But all things are rarely equal in the National Football League and some last minute gyrations on the offensive lines of both clubs have magnified a few cracks the Bears might just be able to exploit, balancing the scales a bit.

Stupid stuff happens with the Bears – or risky stuff, like Cutler getting crushed on five sacks – and we always hear that it’s just details, dust mice in the corners, a spilled soft drink on the chair, mustard underfoot, and it’ll all be clean and spotless by next week.

“We’re going to get a lot better but I don’t want to pin exactly what this offense is going to be or what direction we’re going to go until we get a little more involved”.
