Not just in Brooklyn: Shake Shack releases ‘Chick’n Shack’ sandwich nationwide

While we still get to hold In-N-Out over the heads of every person living to the right of Dallas, we now get to experience the equally heavily Instagrammed, New York-based phenomenon that is Shake Shack.

The location, which will replace the 801 Hill nightclub, will be yet another of the chain to challenge it’s cross-coast rival, California’s In-N-Out Burger. In Austin, Shake Shack partnered with iconic barbecue joint Kreuz Market to supply sausage for the Lockhart Link burger and celebrated Japanese restaurant Uchi for a concrete that blends vanilla frozen custard with the Uchi team’s miso hazelnut blondie and huckleberry jam. The chicken sandwich is first of its kind in the restaurant’s menu, and will be available from January 14; it is aimed at customers throughout North America.

Before you even take a bite, This new sandwich trumps Chick fil-A’s sandwich in one important factor. While Chick-fil-A has made a pledge to offer only antibiotic-free chicken in the next few years, now only 20% of its flock is free from the drug.

Mark Rosati, Shake Shack’s culinary director, will be there overseeing the food. “It wasn’t until we found the chicken sandwich to be as flavorful as our Shack burger that we knew we’d crafted something special that had earned its place on the menu”. And it will cost $6.29.
