Lavov also commented on Turkey’s that “Russian citizens are involved in the purchase of oil from IS” to say it was unusual they came only after Russia presented its claims that the Turkish president and his family are involved in this illegal trade.

The Turkish minister further expected that Moscow will continue holding such meetings to disperse the tense situation.
“If Russia cuts gas, it would effectively be shutting down the Marmara region and that would seriously hurt Turkey”, he said, adding he did not expect Moscow to take such a step as it would break a “contractual obligation”.
“We met with the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry on his insistent request, we heard nothing new”, the Russian minister said according to Russia Today.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said he had heard “nothing new” from his Turkish counterpart. He made the remarks addressing a joint press conference with Turkey’s Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who arrived to Baku with official visit on December 3.
Davutoglu said that if Armenia withdraws from Azerbaijan’s occupied lands, it will be able to join the energy projects.
Sitting next to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the Turkish prime minister melted into a lengthy toast to kinship between Azerbaijan and Turkey; one country that fate divided in two, he said.
Davutoglu also called upon the Russian side to enhance economic cooperation rather than impose sanctions.
The incident with the Russian Su-24 bomber shot down by Turkish warplanes near the Turkish-Syrian border has greatly deteriorated relations between the two countries. Both pilots managed to eject and the plane crashed on Syrian territory. “We want that the future generations too kept these ties at a high level”.
Davutoglu also warned against a repeat of such incidents as several aerial elements will be flying in the same airspace as part of the anti-Daesh fight, especially after the United Kingdom announced it will join the global coalition’s efforts.

“Some countries in the Middle East and North Africa which used to be stable and relatively prosperous – Iraq, Libya, Syria – have turned into zones of chaos and anarchy that pose a threat to entire world”, he said.
