For Longhorn fans, it’s an exciting thing to believe.

With every game there are always positives and negatives to take away from the final outcome, and we learned a few things about this 2016 Notre Dame team. The seventh-year Irish head coach added that the staff will make a decision on who will start this week, though he didn’t say there will only be one quarterback playing on Saturday.
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) – In some versions of a story September 4 and September 5 about a Notre Dame-Texas game, The Associated Press erroneously reported the Irish’s deficit in the third quarter. Obviously an wonderful performance for a true freshmen on the big stage. Redshirt freshman Shaun Crawford started at cornerback and had an interception as well as the player that returned the 2 point conversion for the Irish late. In addition to playing at Texas A&M a year ago, the Wolf Pack played at Florida State and UCLA in 2013. However, Fuller is now off in the NFL. Heard finished with 73 yards receiving, including a 68-yard reception. There were offensive issues, as well as a blocked field goal that really haunted Notre Dame, but there certainly are more questions about the defense than anything else.
The 18 wheeler comes up huge for UT and Swoopes dives into the endzone with a game winning touchdown for the longhorns, “Texas is back folks” the words of the ABC announcer as swoopes dove in and the stadium went absolutely insane! On his next drive, Buechele threw what would’ve been an 85-yard touchdown pass, but receiver John Burt dropped it with nothing but grass in front of him. So expect to see St. But if they play with the same edge and attitude they had against Notre Dame for the rest of the season, then they could prove that they definitely are on the way back.
“We’re a young group of guys and we had three true freshmen out there at one time in the back end of our defense”, Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly said during his Monday teleconference. The Irish were one play – the offense and special teams are not off the hook here – from pulling out the victory.
Notre Dame’s defense was not the only reason the Irish lost to Texas.
“It’s the first game. He’s got to prepare himself as if he’s the starter”, Kelly said.
On Monday, Brian Kelly said Notre Dame sent a tape to the ACC Officials and received confirmation that targeting probably should have been called on the play. He led the Longhorns with a team-high eight tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss.
Although Kelly has stated he hasn’t settled on a starting quarterback yet, it is clear Kizer gives the Irish more fire power as the main man under center.
– After making an impressive debut against Texas, freshman free safety Devin Studstill will see more reps against Nevada. On the other hand, veteran Tyrone Swoopes was especially useful as a runner, tallying 53 rushing yards and three touchdowns, including both Texas TD’s in overtime. He also showed off tremendous accuracy, as the completed 62.5 percent of his pass against the Longhorns.
Kizer was 15 of 24 passing for 215 yards with a pass efficiency rating of 206.5 and rushed for 77 yards on 13 carries.
Notre Dame: Wide receiver Torii Hunter Jr. was knocked out of the game in the third quarter on a ferocious hit from DeShon Elliott in the end zone that broke up an Irish touchdown.

The game started real well for the Notre Dame Fightin Irish scoring a touchdown in the first six plays of the game and quieting the Burnt orange crowd into near silence.
