It seems that many gamers have embraced the streaming options in the app and Microsoft says that it has plans to introduce an option to deliver content from the Windows 10 machine to the Xbox One at some point in the future.

Going by the hints from the tag name, the “Very High Quality” setting for the Xbox One streaming app is apparently part of some form of early testing by Microsoft; and may possibly be rolled out as a standard feature of Windows 10 in the future. This follows on a previous thread within the past few days where user smegg had pointed out that there was a hidden “Very High” setting in the Xbox app files.

Xbox One game streaming to Windows 10 PCs is one of the best features of the new operating system.

We tested it out, and there is definitely a noticeable difference, though one thing to note is that the userconsoledata files was not there until we actually streamed from the Xbox One to PC for the first time. After all, there’s a reason this setting is now hidden away.

However, Warren and Thurman both noted that that the secret setting requires high bandwidth in order to operate properly. I don’t know how well that would really work out given that the benefit of streaming from PC to console is very low and you would need to have a keyboard and mouse hooked up to your console.

To unlock the secret setting on a Windows 10 device with the Xbox One streaming app, gamers should head over to C:Users%USERNAME%AppDataLocalPackages according to Eurogamer. By changing the “IsInternalPreview” flag from “false” to “true”, you can activate the new higher quality. Still, if your local network is solid, it’s definitely worth playing around with.
