Now you can embed Reddit posts on other websites

Simply linking to them sometimes is not enough but embedding the post itself from the subreddits will bring more information to the viewer or reader.

Your news feeds might soon be invaded by a lot more conversations from Reddit. Why?

Reddit, “the front page of the internet” as the site boasts, has finally caught up to just about every major social media platform this week by introducing embeddable threads.

Users can also embed gifs found from the depths of subreddits available on the site. Writers can now embed the posts on their articles themselves.

Reddit now has a feature that allows users to embed posts from the site and onto their blogs or articles online which has been already possible for YouTube videos and Twitter posts in the past.

The company unveiled a new tool for embedding Reddit comments on outside sites, announcing the feature to media outlets Friday.

The embedding feature plays well with other types of content, not only images.

According to a story published on the topic by Tech Crunch, “Reddit posts are going to get the chance to live beyond Reddit itself, thanks to new embedding capabilities”.

“The great thing about Reddit content is that it’s usually longer, it’s more insightful, more in-depth than you’ll see on other social platforms”, Luckie said.

These links will include the name of the subreddit, the title of the post, when it was shared, how many points it has received (which determine its popularity), and the total number of comments.

In order to embed a post you’ll need to click the share button that’s next to the comment link and then hit the embed icon, which should appear on the far right-hand side.

“We’re thrilled to have partnered with incredible content providers, including: AOL, TIME Inc, and Advance Local”, said Reddit’s director of business development Alexandra Riccomini in an emailed statement.

If a comment is edited after a news site embeds it, that will be noted on the embedded post.
