Kendall told U.S. District Court Judge Emmet G. Sullivan that Clinton has previously testified under oath before the congressional committee investigating the 2012 Benghazi attacks and was interviewed for hours as part of the FBI’s recently closed criminal investigation. “The public’s right to know is going to be vindicated here”, Kendall said.
“We found no evidence that any of the additional work-related e-mails were intentionally deleted in an effort to hide them”, he said during his news conference.
Clinton has already faced political backlash after an Federal Bureau of Investigation probe found she handled classified records on the system with “extreme carelessness”, but did not commit a crime.
Last year, Clinton handed over roughly 55,000 pages of her work-related emails to the State Department for potential release, but withheld and deleted a similar number she said dealt exclusively with such personal matters as family vacations and plans for her daughter’s wedding. It was allowed by the State Department. Only Clinton could adequately answer why she made that choice, he said.
Judicial Watch has deposed seven current and former State Department employees in the lawsuit.
That’s in line with her statement on the April 3, 2016, edition of Meet the Press where she said, “I think that anybody who’s actually looked at this has concluded that I have now put out all of my emails”.
