The plane was on its way Robertson Field in CT from Myrtle Beach, S.C.

One crash victim’s body was found in the parking lot of BOCES school, another just slightly to the west in the woods and the third about 50 yards away in Oyster Bay Cove, Skrynecki said.
Officials continue to investigate.
A spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration said three passengers were on board the plane. During a news conference Wednesday investigators said the biggest challenge is getting to the wreckage.
Police asked residents who find any victims’ personal items to bring them into authorities.
The plane, which departed from Myrtle Beach, SC, sent out a mayday call – which was received by the Republic airport in Farmingdale – just before the fatal crash. “Three large debris areas have been safe guarded overnight and we are in the process of removing the items from those debris fields right now”.
The FAA released a statement on the crash: “A Beech BE35 aircraft crashed on Cold Spring Road in Syosset, NY at about 3:39 pm today”. “It does happen. In 18 years, I’ve probably worked five or 10 of them”.
Officials said the pilot of the single-engine Beechcraft 35 aircraft told air traffic control that his plane was having instrument problems.
“I was on the sports field – I had lacrosse practice today – and all of a sudden, we heard this, ‘Bbbbbb!’ and then, we were like, I didn’t know what it was, and I look up, and there’s pieces literally falling out of the sky”, a girl added.

Investigators are combing the area for debris, and said it could take up to a year before they can determine an exact cause. “Trying to locate the pilot at this time”, the scanner said via Broadcastify.
