Nuance, the voice recognition and productivity software company behind the iOS keyboard’s Dictation feature, today has revealed a series of updates to its applications and a new cloud-based synchronization service at the core.

As it stands, Dragon Anywhere is available on the desktop, but come this fall those who are interested will be able to get their hands on the voice dictation app on their mobile device, which might actually be a good thing since taking voice notes and having it transcribed for you while on the go seems like a good idea. It is an app which will be able to accept endless voice input, so the users do not have to stop and wait for results. It will include a list of useful features to help anyone keep up while out and about.

This new app is geared towards the busy, working professional.

Dragon Anywhere will only be available as a subscription and the company has not decided on a price yet. Dragon Professional Group with the Nuance User Management Center for group and corporate use, are available now.

People who find it easier to write reports and other text documents by using Nuance Communications’ Dragon dictation software for the desktop will soon have another option-dictating from their mobile devices.

“For years, professionals across industries have relied on Dragon on their PCs and Macs for completing the documentation and paperwork requirements that are critical to their businesses, and we are excited to extend that experience to mobile devices with Dragon Anywhere”, Peter Mahoney, senior vice president and general manager of Dragon, said in a statement. Custom words and auto-texts can be easily managed by an IT administrator and deployed to employees using the app. Customized vocabularies and auto-texts are also shared across an entire Dragon experience with Dragon Anywhere’s ability to sync with the new Dragon Professional Individual and Dragon for Mac.

Downloads (with perpetual licenses) of Dragon Professional Individual will cost $300; for the new Dragon for Mac it’s $200.

Nuance says its latest Dragon-branded products will improve productivity and efficiency for lawyers, social workers and other professionals, especially when they’re out of the office.

Nuance announced a new version of Dragon NaturallySpeaking this morning – and it’s no longer called Dragon NaturallySpeaking! Dragon for Mac enables professionals to dictate reports, spreadsheets, emails, and other documentation quickly and accurately, while advanced transcription converts any single-speaker audio file into an editable document.
