Number One Kids’ Cartoon to Feature Married Gay Couple
The episode entitled “Overnight Success” will see Clyde McBride introduce his parents, Harold and Howard, to his best mate Lincoln when he heads to their house for a sleepover. The episode premieres in the US on Wednesday July 20th. Rather than linger on their sexuality, the episode focused on their traits as overprotective parents.

Time to make history indeed!
Variety excitedly wrote that the episode “makes no hoopla over the appearance of the married gay couple” and it’s “definitely not treated like a big deal”.
HollywoodLifers, what do you think of The Loud House’s first same-sex married couple?
Loud House, which tells the story of a boy with ten sisters, premiered on Nickelodeon on 2 May. Just like so many other parents.
It’s shown in the United Kingdom on the Nicktoons channel, although there’s no confirmed date for the episode in this country just yet. In the same year, Cartoon Network aired its first gay characters, but censored their kiss-changing it from on the lips, to on the cheek.
A snippet surfaced on Twitter earlier this week and has been praised for presenting the family as just like any other on the show.
Mike DiMartino, cocreator of Nickelodeon’s The Legend of Korra, confirmed on his website in February 2014 that two of the show’s female characters were in a relationship.
