Dungeons and Dragons has yet to claim an official release date but Warner Bros. has a few “Untitled” films on the calendar, so the film may lay claim to one of them as it continues to come together. The studio announced that David Leslie Johnson, whose credits include “Wrath of the Titans 2” and “The Conjuring 2”, already has a script for the film, which Warner Bros. see as the beginning of a franchise.

The film revolves around a warrior and his band of mystical creatures as they embark on a unsafe journey to find a fictitious treasure. What do you think of Ansel Elgort possibly headlining the new Dungeons & Dragons movie?

That representational complaint aside, the adaptation will be directed by Rob Letterman, who recently proved with Goosebumps that he can turn dubious-sounding concepts into fun, charming movies, so who knows.

“We are so excited about bringing the world of Dungeons & Dragons to life on the big screen”.

Justin Whalin (“Lois & Clark”) and Jeremy Irons starred in the original “Dungeons and Dragons” film.

“This new Dungeons & Dragons will be a Guardians of the Galaxy-tone movie in a Tolkien-like universe”. He’s starring in the upcoming remake of “The Billionaire Boys Club” and “Baby Driver” from director Edgar Wright.
