Police described how Cesar Andres Medina was crossing the street on his skateboard at an intersection San Juan Capistrano when he was hit by a black pickup truck.
A nurse in a California hospital, in the midst of a bustling Friday night shift, broke down in tears when she recognized the patient who was rushed in, dying, after a hit-and-run accident: her brother. Authorities arrived and found a Dodge Ram truck believed to be the vehicle that struck Medina. Melissa Etezadi reports for Today in LA on Saturday, October 3, 2015. She added that her little brother always had a big smile and loved to take care of people, especially the ones he loved. But when the nurse opened his wallet, she instantly recognized the I.D.
The 23-year-old man was identified by the coroner’s office as Andy Medina, aka Cesar.
Ms Medina said when her colleague found the man’s wallet, she immediate recognised it.
“Everything just collapsed. I just couldn’t hold it together”.
The collision happened on Del Obispo Street at Paseo Carolina around 10 p.m. Friday.
Witnesses told NBC Los Angeles Medina had the right of way and was on a green light when he was run down.
“Please I’m begging the guy that killed my nephew to go to the police”, said Mary Floyd, the victim’s aunt. KCBS Cesar Medina died after being hit by a truck, sending him flying 20 feet in the air.
