NVIDIA releases Android 5.1 for the Tegra Note 7
(Although the SHIELD Portable would be an odd choice for that pastime.).

Remember NVIDIA’s first tablet before the gaming-centered Shield Tablet?
NVIDIA today finally released Android 5.1 for the original Shield Portable, the device is making the jump to Lollipop from Android 4.4 KitKat.
The Tegra Note 7 is a little different from NVIDIA’s other Android devices, since the company provided the designs, but partnered with third-party companies to actually produce the tablet.
This update fixes a problem with not being able to read books in the Google Play Books app, and it also removes apps and features not supported by this version of the OS.
Moreover, the update will also give the Shield Portable handled console the ability to be a Chromecast / Google Cast source device.
Most retailers have stopped selling Tegra Note 7 tablets, but you can pick up a used model from eBay for around $130 and up. A new version of the bundled Twitch app is also installed by default.
Another user by the name of Captain Cookster reported that his Tegra Note 7 has been mothballed and is no longer usable with the Android 5.1 Lollipop update, posting a long list of issues that includes overheating, battery depletion, random rebooting and lagging keyboard and GUI, for an overall slower performance of the tablet.

It is nice to see that NVIDIA is still supporting its older devices, despite its focus on its newer models such as the Shield Tablet.
