Nvidia’s Changing the Driver Game with GeForce Experience Update
Ultimately NVIDIA wants to fold its users into a more unified ecosystem with the GeForce Experience app managing everything from driver updates to Game Streaming. Clearly this will make the visual presentation of your games on your television more impressive than ever and NVIDIA has added support for 5.1 channel surround sound pass through. GeForce Experience will be the preferred “first access” distribution mechanism for NVIDIA’s frequent driver updates.

There is another change coming with this release of GFE that might turn a few heads surrounding the frequently updated “Game Ready” drivers NVIDIA puts out for specific game launches.
Until this latest release GeForce Experience had been limited to serving up GameStream with 1080p video and stereo audio, so this marks a significant increase in GameStream’s video and audio quality. Try it out and detail your experience in our feedback thread for the benefit of others in the community. NVIDIA Share will now allow for point to point stream sharing, giving you the ability to send a link to your friend that they can open in a web browser and watch the game that you are playing with very low latency.
Interestingly enough, Nvidia says that “mid to high 90%” of its driver download traffic comes through GFE today, so the company doesn’t expect this new arrangement to change anything for the majority of its customers.
If either of those upgrades sound intriguing, you can download the GeForce Experience beta here.
Now that your account is configured, press Alt+Z to load the GeForce Experience Share overlay, and “Customize” in the “Broadcast” drop-down.
In terms of supported platforms, this new release is suitable for both desktop and notebook configurations powered by one of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 operating systems (either 32- and 64-bit variants).
Moving on from local streaming to live streaming streaming. Previously, you could only stream to Twitch at 720p but from now on, you will be able to bump that up to 1080p at 60 frames per second.
Wrapping things up, NVIDIA tells us these latest and upcoming improvements to GeForce Experience will be followed by further improvements for GeForce Experience in 2016.
GeForce Experience added Twitch.tv live streaming back in 2013, and since then the feature has been refined and updated with new functionality and options. Recording gameplay is as easy as bringing up the overlay and clicking a button.
Big news from Nvidia overnight – if you want to stay up to date with drivers for GeForce video cards, you’re going to need to buy into the GeForce Experience software. From December, you’ll have to verify your email address with Nvidia before being able to download game ready drivers. “After that you’ll have instant access to drivers, will receive NVIDIA product news and announcements, and have the chance to win hardware, free game codes, early access to game betas, and other cool stuff.”

To make these features even greater, we want your feedback. Come December starting pending that update, this format will changing.
