A NY prosecutor’s inquiry into the charitable Trump Foundation is a political scheme created to divert attention from Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump’s spokesman said on Wednesday.

NY state’s top law enforcement official said on Tuesday he has opened an investigation into the Donald J Trump Foundation, citing worries the Republican presidential nominee’s charity has been involved in “impropriety”.
“We have been concerned that the Trump Foundation may have engaged in some impropriety”, Schneiderman said on CNN’s “The Lead”.
Bondi and her PAC, And Justice for All, are under the scanner for accepting donations worth $651,000 from the Trump Foundation during her re-election in 2013 and 2014, the report stated.
Bondi, who now backs Trump’s Oval Office bid, ultimately declined to bring charges against the billionaire’s for-profit education company.
Cheung called Schneiderman’s comments “nothing more than another left-wing hit job created to distract” attention from Clinton’s recent missteps on the campaign trail, reports Reuters.
Clinton’s stumble, captured on amateur video and seen online and on television, gave Trump a new opening to question her fitness for the nation’s highest office as the race intensifies.

The Associated Press reported in June that Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi personally solicited the political donation from Trump after her office received complaints from former students seeking refunds. He is also leading a fraud lawsuit against Trump University in the state.

“While my opponent slanders you as deplorable and irredeemable, I call you hardworking American patriots who love your country and want a better future for all of our people”, Trump said in Iowa.
