He was identified as Ahmad Khan Rahami, 28, an immigrant from Afghanistan with a USA passport, who was captured by police after a shootout in the city of Linden, New Jersey.

US media reports say five people were taken into custody for questioning late on September 18 as part of an investigation into a homemade bomb that exploded on Manhattan’s west side a day earlier, injuring 29 people.

The review site took action Monday, listing the restaurant’s page with an “active cleanup alert”.

The investigation is ongoing and it’s not clear if there were other suspects involved in the bombings.

28-year-old Ahmad Khan Rahami has been captured in Linden, New Jersey after a gun battle with the police which has left 2 officers wounded.

“They are not all identical, but there were certain similarities in the way the bombs were put together”, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said.

“They looked like they were two gentlemen just strolling up and down Seventh Avenue at the time”.

The FBI special agent in charge of the case, William Sweeney, said at the same press conference that his agency has no evidence about any terrorist cell operating in metropolitan New York City.

Rahami’s last known address was listed as Elizabeth, New Jersey, where five suspected explosive devices were found in a backpack near a train station on Monday.

In 2011, the family sued the city and its police department, alleging discrimination and harassment against Muslims stemming from disputes over the restaurant’s hours.

A childhood friend, Flee Jones, said Rahami had become more religious after returning from a trip to Afghanistan several years ago.

As police searched for Ahmad Rahami on Monday, the owner of a bar in Linden found a man sleeping in his hallway. “However, we still want to talk to them, obviously”.

“Rahami was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment and has since undergone surgery”.

Rahami, who worked for his family’s fried chicken restaurant in Elizabeth, was shot in the leg and taken to University.

Five of his relatives or associates were stopped for questioning as they drove across the Verrazano Bridge, which connects Staten Island and Brooklyn.

Bains said he was watching news on TV on his laptop from another business across the street.

When officers responded, Rahami pulled out a handgun and opened fire, striking an officer in the chest.

GWEN IFILL: President Obama weighed in from NY, where he’s attending the United Nations General Assembly. He’s a very friendly guy, that’s what’s so scary. He called on Americans to show the world “we will never give in to fear”. “It’s hard when it’s home”, McCann said.
