NY explosion: No arrests made, earlier report wrong, says Federal Bureau of Investigation
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio called an explosion on the West Side of Manhattan that injured at least 29 people “intentional” but not terrorist in nature.

The first device, which exploded on West 23rd Street at about 8:30 p.m., appeared to have been caused by an improvised explosive device placed inside a toolbox in front of a building undergoing construction, the law enforcement official said.
A second device was discovered blocks away, removed by a bomb squad robot and is being examined at a police facility.
This story is breaking.
In addition to having the same detonating device, old school flip phones, investigators revealed that in all five cases, the bomb maker seemed to lack the “know how” in creating the potentially deadly devices.
The army officials said the rebels entered the sprawling camp after crossing a stream and breaching the fencing Saturday night. But New York media say the alleged bomber posted a manifesto on the Tumblr social media site under a large headline: “I’m the NY Bomber”.
Police, firefighters and emergency workers gather at the scene of an explosion in Manhattan on September 17, 2016 in New York City. The FBI is investigating the stabbing attack as a “potential act of terrorism” after an ISIS-run news agency claimed responsibility, the New York Times reported.
The second device was described by a law enforcement official as a pressure-cooker with wires and a cellphone attached to it. “It means that they have no evidence and that the investigation continues”.
New York City’s mayor said officials have not found any specific connection between the Saturday night blast and an earlier incident in New Jersey where an explosion occurred on the route of a Marine Corps charity run.
The site of the explosion, on 23rd Street, remained closed to the public late on Sunday afternoon as investigators collect hundreds of pieces of evidence.
The man made references to Allah and asked at least one person if they were Muslim before he assaulted them at the Crossroads Center mall in St. Cloud, the city’s Police Chief William Blair Anderson told reporters.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo, touring the site of the blast in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood, known for its vibrant arts scene and large gay community, said there didn’t appear to be any link to global terrorism.
The New York Joint Terrorism Task Force is investigating the explosion as a possible terrorist act. “It took me an hour and a half before I could hear again”.
Police had said the blast in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan appeared to come from inside a large trash bin, and law enforcement sources said they have video of a man dropping something into or next to a dumpster.
On Saturday, way before officials confirmed the cause of the explosion, Trump said it had been a bomb.

The explosion, on a commercial and residential street in the district of Chelsea on Saturday evening, sent a powerful shock wave through several blocks. “I looked down the block and I saw the smoke coming out”. She said the restaurant went quiet. It’s tiny bars, where you go to grab a drink, grab a bite to eat, watch a film. “I definitely think you have to be aware and keep your eyes open, and that sort of thing, but I think security is generally pretty tight”. Martinez had injuries to his head and leg. Abero and her unborn baby were not injured. He sustained injuries to his head and leg and said he felt “a little traumatized”.
