An officer fired a Taser gun at the man twice but the man ripped the darts out, police said. This time he fell to the ground and was taken into custody. The suspect ran into 2755 Dewey Ave. with four officers and two sergeants chasing him.
Colon was taken to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition, police said. They follow him and encounter him on the 7th floor with a knife to his neck, according to police sources.
Police say Colon may have been under the influence of a controlled substance.
Police sources said Colon had been kicked out of his girlfriend’s apartment earlier in the day and had a history of drug abuse. It was always just in and out.
A 45th precinct plainclothes sergeant, who had responded to the officers’ call for assistance, shot a taser at Colon, Nikunen said.
