MacNeill said Thursday that evidence showed they broke into several camps, a shotgun was missing and other guns could have been taken.

Matt, 48, was killed by authorities when he was discovered three weeks later. He ignored commands to show his hands and instead pointed a shotgun at agent Christopher Voss, who then fatally shot Matt, he wrote.
He faces two felony counts of first-degree escape and a felony count of promoting prison contraband for possessing hacksaw blades. The prisoners used power tools to saw through steel cell walls and steam pipes to reach a manhole outside the prison.

Two days later, David Sweat was spotted running on a rural road, just miles from the Canadian border, and was shot by NY State Police Sergeant Jay Cook. Both were shot in Franklin County, where he is the top law enforcement officer, and he concluded both officers acted lawfully under New York’s penal law.

TWC News reported that Sweat pleaded guilty to two felony counts of first degree escape, and a felony count of promoting prison contraband.
